What would my spiritual life look like if it were healthy, intentional, and aligned?
What would be different in the way I think, feel, act, choose, and live?
I was sitting in quiet this morning during my daily morning meditation and it was quiet. I turned off all external noise – the background radio, the Bible reading, the inspirational devotion – everything. And I sat in silence.
I wasn’t confused about God. I was confused about me. That is usually the real problem. Who am I becoming?
Maybe the real issue is not that your spiritual life is broken. Maybe it’s that it has been crowded out by noise, ego, speed, image, and a thousand little appetites I deem as necessity.
Let’s stop pretending spirituality means vaguely believing in something higher while living exactly like everyone else.
What does this area of your life actually mean when you imagine your ideal life?
Not your church answer. Not your polished answer. Not the answer that makes you sound thoughtful. The real one.
If your spiritual life were healthy, intentional, and aligned, would you still be this scattered? Would you still need constant distraction to avoid yourself? Would peace be something you talk about or something you carry? Would your private life look cleaner, or would it just look better explained?
What would change in the way you think?
Would your mind still obsess over image, control, resentment, money, being noticed, being right? Or would your thoughts become quieter, truer, less crowded with you? Are your thoughts forming your soul, or just feeding your ego with religious vocabulary?
What would change in the way you feel?
Would you feel less low-grade guilt and more actual conviction? Less anxiety? Less envy? Would contentment feel weak to you, or would it finally feel like freedom?
What would change in the way you act?
Would you become more honest? More interruptible? More repentant? More generous when nobody benefits your reputation?
What would change in the way you choose to live?
Would your schedule reveal God, or just your preferences? Would your habits point toward surrender, or toward comfort? Would people closest to you experience more patience, more steadiness, more truth? Or have you mistaken spiritual knowledge for spiritual formation?
If your ideal spiritual life costs your ego, your habits, your image, your control, and your excuses… do you still want it?
What is the cost? Are you willing?
Shift/Insight
An aligned spiritual life is not religious decoration. It is what happens when your inner world stops lying to your outer one.
Today’s Nudge
What do I protect more fiercely than intimacy with God?
Faith Connection
Jesus did not die to make you appear spiritual.
He calls you to die to yourself so something truer can finally live.
