What If You’re Wrong About Everything?

I caught myself this week arguing with someone in my head long before the conversation even began.

By the time I finished winning the imaginary debate, I had lost something real. Peace.

Maybe that’s the first clue that being right and seeing clearly are not the same thing.

What if the problem is not all the voices around you? What if the real problem is that you’ve already crowned one of them king.

We all hear them. Fear. Ego. Old wounds. Family history. Cultural noise. Your own cravings.

Sometimes that other person is actually right.

That is where the tension lives. Not between your view and their view. Between your need to be certain and reality refusing to cooperate.

Most people say they want truth. Until truth costs them comfort. Until they have to admit that what they called discernment was insecurity.

So what do you do with the noise?

Stop calling every internal reaction wisdom.

Ask better questions.

What is this voice producing in me? Pride? Panic? Peace? Honesty? Obedience? Does it make me more open, or just more defensive? Is this conviction, or is this just my ego?

Let time help. False voices usually need urgency. Truth rarely needs time to become true.

Listen without immediately bowing. Every opinion does not deserve authority. But some do deserve examination, especially the one that offends you fastest.

And then comes the part nobody likes. Surrender.

Bring the noise before God and let Him interrupt you. Not the god who always agrees with you. The real One. The One who loves you enough to expose what is false and steady what is true.

Maybe you are wrong about some things.

That does not make you a fool.

Refusing correction might.

Shift/Insight

The goal is not to silence every voice. It is to discern which voice leads toward humility, honesty, peace, and obedience.

Today’s Nudge

Write down one thought that has been following you around this week. Who does this sound like? What does it want from me? What fruit does it produce?

Faith Connection

Jesus was never threatened by honest questions. He was troubled by hard hearts.

Ask Him to show you where pride has been louder than truth, and where His voice has been quieter only because you have been noisier.
