A Christ follower still has bills, cholesterol, grown children, disappointments, plans, and an occasional bad attitude. Following Jesus does not remove these subjects. It changes who leads and how we respond.
HisNudge describes the movement from hearing to doing. James 1:22 says, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” The question is not whether we can explain faith beautifully. It is whether faith reaches the calendar, bank account, dinner table, difficult conversation, and person in front of us.
A faithful nudge can begin with three questions
Where am I? Start with the facts, without hiding behind the life I meant to live. What am I doing here? Look at behavior and its fruit, including what others experience. How am I to live? Choose a response: perhaps an apology, a prayer, a gift, a changed habit, or an act of service.
Not every impulse is a message from God. We can test a possible nudge through Scripture, prayer, trusted people, and the direction it moves us. Does it draw us toward Jesus and toward love, humility, forgiveness, and service? Or does it mostly protect comfort and control? We may not get the entire map. We can still take the next faithful step.
